EDTA is an aminoacid that can bind to (Chelate) heavy metals such as Mercury, Lead, Iron, Arsenium, Aluminum, Copper as well as Calcium. It has been approved by FDA to treat Lead and Mercury poisoning. Due to it’s abilty to bind to Calcium it may remove calcium from the atherosclerotic blood vessels. Micronized (small size crystlas) EDTA disodium chelate is a form of EDTA that has better resistance to stomach acids and a better degree of absorbtion in the intestine.
